Absolutely! Our Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) program is designed specifically for beginners. We believe in learning by doing, so rather than starting with complicated rules or character creation, we jump straight into the adventure! As your child plays, they’ll gradually learn the rules and mechanics of the game. Our Dungeon Masters guide them every step of the way, ensuring they feel comfortable and engaged right from the start.
D&D helps children develop a wide range of valuable skills. Through creative storytelling and collaborative problem-solving, your child will build critical thinking and decision-making skills. D&D also promotes teamwork and communication as players work together to overcome obstacles and solve in-game challenges. Plus, by stepping into different character roles, children gain confidence and empathy, learning to view situations from different perspectives.

D&D’s flexible and collaborative nature allows every child to engage with the game in a way that suits them. Whether your child prefers storytelling, problem-solving, or imaginative play, they will feel supported and included in our program.
Each session starts with the Dungeon Master setting the scene for that day’s adventure. Rather than spending time on rules or mechanics, we dive straight into the story! Kids learn the game as they go, discovering how their actions and decisions shape the world around them. Players collaborate to overcome challenges, solve puzzles, and explore new areas. At the end of the session, we reflect on the adventure, reinforcing the social and problem-solving skills used throughout the game.
While we provide most of the materials needed for the game, we do use D&D Beyond, a digital platform for character sheets and game resources. Before your child’s first session, we will provide clear instructions on how to create a free D&D Beyond account. This will allow your child to easily manage their character and interact with the game. Other than that, all your child needs is a device to access the session, their imagination, and a willingness to dive into the adventure!

My son always looks forward to his D&D class every week and hearing him use his imagination and engaging with other people is the best. He is getting more and more talkative and even when he doesn't talk alot, he always tells us about what adventure they had and all the details about what they did. We're really happy to have found this class!

Joe is doing a wonderful job teaching my 13 yr old about D&D. He is organized and provides tools and suggestions to start her journey off successfully. He is creative, and very kind. My daughter has enjoyed her lessons with Joe. We highly recommend his classes.
My two boys, 11 and 13, LOVE LOVE LOVE this class. They love DandD and are in 4 hours a week. This is one of their favorite classes. Tom makes it fun! Guild of Imagination puts on great classes. The teachers have great communication with parents and kids. Mine love to "text" and ask questions about their characters and their development throughout the week. They always can not wait until the next class.
