Katie Sinclair
Hi, I’m Katie! I’m an experienced online educator and gamer who loves using games as a way to bring learners together, encourage creativity, and build positive social connections.
I have several years of experience teaching online and in-person, including Minecraft social and building classes, gaming clubs, veterinary science, animal behavior, and other interest-based courses. Through teaching, I’ve worked with learners with a wide variety of personalities, communication styles, interests, and support needs. My teaching style is relaxed and encouraging while still providing the structure and boundaries needed to keep multiplayer games fun and welcoming for everyone.
In Minecraft, I enjoy giving learners the freedom to be creative and pursue their own ideas while also encouraging collaboration and introducing challenges. Some learners want to tackle huge builds together, some love showing everyone their latest creation, some love survival and challenges, and others are happiest quietly building alongside the group. I don't expect every learner to socialize in the same way. Instead, I help create opportunities for conversation and teamwork while allowing socialization to develop naturally through play.
Outside of teaching, gaming has been a major part of my life for many years. I’m a livestreamer with experience creating and managing online gaming communities, including organizing multiplayer and community gaming events. Horror games are a particular favorite of mine, and I have over 1,000 hours in Phasmophobia, where I’ve reached high Prestige and earned the Apocalypse Gold Trophy.
That experience has taught me a lot about what makes an online gaming community work: patience, communication, inclusion, good sportsmanship, and knowing when to step in if a situation begins affecting someone else's experience.
My goal in every Minecraft class is pretty simple: give learners a safe, welcoming place to play, create, laugh, and spend time with other kids who enjoy the same things they do.
